What Factors Affect The Quality Of Stainless Steel Security Mesh?

Nov. 10, 2020

Stainless steel security mesh is an important part of security doors and Windows, its quality deeply influences the performance of security doors and Windows. What factors affect the quality of the mesh? Including the following aspects:

First Stainless Steel Wire.

(1)Material of the stainless wire.

The stainless steel security mesh is made of stainless wire. Stainless steel grades are determined by their composition and uses. 316 and 304 stainless steels are the most common types. 304 which is often referred to as 18-8 (18% chromium, 8% nickel) is a basic stainless alloy that offers a combination of corrosion resistance, heat resistance, strength and affordability. 316 contains an additional substance, about 2 to 3 percent molybdenum, which increases corrosion resistance. So it has a higher level of corrosion resistance, particularly in salt-water environments. So we think that 316 is more suitable for the coastal environment,And the inland environment can choose 304.

(2)The diameter of the stainless wire.

The most commonly used stainless steel wire are 0.8mm and 0.9mm. The thicker the wire diameter, the safer the security mesh. Of course, the thicker the diameter, the more difficult the weaving. With 20 years of production experience, Domine wire mesh has developed SS mesh with a wire diameter of 1. 2mm. Use stronger security mesh to keep you and your family safe.

(3) The tensile strength of the stainless wire.

Tensile strength is the maximum carrying capacity of a metal under tensile conditions. At the same wire diameter, tensile strength is a key factor for security mesh to pass knife shear test(AS5041-2008). Of course, the better the tensile strength of the wire, the higher the price. Domine stainless steel security mesh use high tensile stainless wire to give you the best quality products!

Second Weaving

The wire used in security mesh is relatively thick, which places high demands on the weaving machine. The weaving level of the machine determines whether the aperture is square and the mesh surface is flat. So good weaving machine is also a must for high quality stainless steel security mesh.

Third Surface Treatment Of The Mesh

The powder coating is a kind of dry powder. It is sprayed to security mesh surface by electrostatic spraying. Then baked in a woven at a temperature of about 200 degree. To achieve the purpose of surface treatment of SS mesh, increase its corrosion resistance. Good quality powder could keep the original bright and shiny color for years without fading, peeling or bursting. So good powder is a key factor in security mesh quality. Domine wire mesh uses the world first-class powder- AkzoNobel powder. The powder has strong attachment, and will not peel off or fade after many years.

Pre-treatment before surface treatment is also important. Through a series of treatments on the mesh surface, the adhesion between the mesh and the powder is increased, making it difficult to fall off.

Therefore the stainless steel security mesh looks the same, but the quality may be very different. The quality of the products at the same price is also uneven.
