The decision to install a security screen or security door is often triggered by the desire to protect the home from unwanted intruders. However, Domine wire mesh security screens offer a variety of additional features over standard security screens, making them a 'multi-purpose' screen.

The last thing you want to worry about is the quality of the security screen mesh installed and whether it will last a long way.

With Domine security screen mesh, you can rest easy because we've taken care of the research for you. Does it matter where the security screen mesh is made?

The key to ensuring quality in all parts of the production cycle is to have processes in place to document each step. Suppliers should be able to provide evidence to answer the following questions: Is the wire used to form the mesh actually marine grade 316 or stainless steel 304? Has the product been properly pre-treated? Are the powders used suitable for Australian conditions? Have they been tested to Australian and international standards?

As one of the professional screen mesh suppliers, Domine wire mesh's commitment to ongoing industry research and ensuring we continue to deliver the best products possible.

Testing meshes

The two standard tests applied to security screens specifically highlight the superior performance of Domine security screen mesh. In both cases, the strength and corrosion resistance of our mesh showed it to be significantly better than the competitors.

Knife Shear Test

The first test is an Australian standard designed to measure the strength of a steel mesh, called knife shear AS5041-2008. the test is designed to simulate a knife attack by a potential burglar attempting to cut through a security window or door. Domine security screen mesh passed both the horizontal and vertical knife tests.

The second test that highlights the characteristics of stainless steel security mesh is the neutral salt spray test (Australian Standard AS2331.3.1). This test compares the relative corrosion resistance between competing systems and security doors and screens.
